I have heard this phrase repeated often during my career working as an aircraft mechanic. And as you can see this is what happens when you don’t do it right the first time.

After exhausting all efforts to figure out why the transmission was not working without pulling the engine again I finally came to the conclusion that there was only one explanation. The torque converter. And therefore had no other choice but to remove the engine — again.
So needless to say I figured out what the problem was right away. I sheared the tabs on the transmission pump gear.
